Stumbling Towards Clarity
20 years in aviation ➡️ Sabbatical ➡️ Self-employment
I came to Southwest Airlines straight out of college with no specialized skills or ambition. I had no aviation or business background. I had never used Excel. I had barely flown on an airplane.
Yet, somehow managing airline operations became an addiction and turned this Gen-X slacker into a workaholic.
Cancer changed that, for a while.
Several years later, when COVID-19 decimated my industry, I grabbed the golden buyout parachute, jumped out of my 20-year aviation career, and started a year-long sabbatical. After a year of experimentation, I founded Resolve With Clarity to offer airline crewing consulting and mediation services.
I’m still figuring out how to have a healthy relationship with work, and what that even means.
As I stumble towards clarity, I’m sharing what I’ve learned
If you:
Have a complicated relationship with work
Are navigating a health diagnosis while working
Feel like you’re on the outskirts of “normal” screaming, “Why does this feel so unnatural???”
…you’re in the right place. Let’s hang out and share ideas.
I live in Dallas, TX, USA. I’m happiest when chasing sunsets, hiking in a redwood forest, or on the dance floor.
